Sperm is collected from your dog and is artificially inseminated into the bitch. With good sperm count and motility this should not fail and can be used as a fertility tool when the ova are starting to mature if your timings have gone astray.

A sterile technique is used as much as is possible in order to eliminate any risks that you would possibly get from penetration of the dog in the bitch. This also reduces the stress on a maiden / older bitches that are not keen on having the weight of the male on top of them.
