Most recently this is an important test when you are looking at the optimal window for mating. Normally done after approx. 10 days after the start of your bitches season, depending on the breed as this can be very breed specific.

Sometimes this will end up being a baseline test and further tests may be required to pinpoint mating days with a little more accuracy as to when your bitch has ovulated and the ova are mature enough to be fertilised.
